Thanks to CPER and regional funding (Occitanie Octopus project), the MetaToul-Lipidomic platform has acquired a chromatography instrument coupled to a high-resolution mass spectrometer of the Exporis 240 (Thermo).
This instrument, which replaces our simple Exactive, will improve the sensitivity of MS/MS profiling of sphingolipids and triacylglycerides on biological microsamples. It will also allow us to develop flux-lipiomics on complex lipids such as sphingolipids, triglycerides or phospholipids.
We will then be able to follow complex lipids in biological systems after labelling with stable isotopes (13C or deuterium).
This project will be a strong development axis of the MetaboHUB consortium (https://www.metabohub.fr/) to which Metatoul (https://www6.toulouse.inrae.fr/metatoul) belongs.
